The Discraft Comet is a midrange with flight numbers 4/5/-2/1, an understable profile defined by strong glide and a noticeable high-speed turn. The disc wants to lean right out of the hand on a right-hand backhand at moderate power, ride flat for the bulk of the flight, and finish with only a slight fade. Touch shots and hyzer flips become straight, glidey lines, anhyzers hold their angle for shaping around obstacles, and tailwind throws can be steered into easy turnovers. As the plastic seasons, the -2 turn deepens and the 1 fade further softens, pushing the Comet toward a flippy understable midrange and eventually a controllable roller. Discraft premium plastics like Z, ESP, Jawbreaker and CryZtal hold the 4/5/-2/1 flight longest. Baseline Pro D, X and Rubber Blend wear in faster and reach the flippy and roller stages sooner.

The rim feels hard and crisp in the hand, suiting power throwers who want overstable drivers to hold their fade for the long haul. Z resists chipping and scuffing better than most opaque blends, and stamp foils tend to read cleanly against the semi-transparent base. Cold weather can make the surface feel slick. Premium plastics like Z hold listed flight numbers far longer, while baseline plastics deepen turn and soften fade within weeks.
