The Discraft Meteor is a midrange with intended flight numbers of 5 / 5 / -3 / 1. The strong -3 turn and minimal 1 fade place it firmly on the understable side of the midrange category, a disc built for long, sweeping turnover lines and easy distance at lower arm speeds. The high glide of 5 keeps it floating across the fairway, where it leans right for a right-handed backhand throw and finishes with only a hint of fade rather than fighting back. It is well suited to hyzer flips, tailwind midrange drives and gentle anhyzer approaches, and is forgiving for newer players who struggle to bring stiffer midranges up to their rated flight. As it wears in it gives up more turn and becomes a dependable midrange roller. Premium plastics such as Z, ESP and Jawbreaker preserve the original flight longest, while baseline plastics like Pro D and X beat in quickly and shift the disc further into flippy territory.
Plast: Z: Discraft Z is the foundational premium blend in the lineup, a firm, slightly translucent plastic with a glassy surface and excellent shape retention. The rim feels hard and crisp in the hand, suiting power throwers who want overstable drivers to hold their fade for the long haul. Z resists chipping and scuffing better than most opaque blends, and stamp foils tend to read cleanly against the semi-transparent base. Cold weather can make the surface feel slick. Premium plastics like Z hold listed flight numbers far longer, while baseline plastics deepen turn and soften fade within weeks.
