Hatchet VIP (6)

The Westside Hatchet is an understable fairway driver built to feel comfortable in the hand and reward controlled lines at any arm speed. With flight numbers of 9/6/-2/1, it offers solid speed, generous glide, a noticeable turn, and a mild fade that combine into a forgiving, controllable shape. The turn rating of -2 places it firmly in the understable category, which means stronger arms can shape long, frozen-rope flights, gentle anhyzers, or rollers, using the Hatchet as a controllable distance tool for shaped fairway shots. For lower arm speeds it flies straight with easy glide and finally delivers the anhyzer and turnover lines that more overstable drivers rarely produce. As wear accumulates, the Hatchet becomes increasingly flippy and turns into a reliable roller and tailwind disc. It is a strong choice for technical wooded fairways where shape and finesse matter more than raw power. Westside offers it in premium VIP, Tournament, and Moonshine VIP plastics, with BT Hard, BT Soft, and Origio as baseline options.

Plast: VIP: Westside Discs VIP is the flagship premium translucent blend in the lineup, a clear, durable polymer that carries deep dye work and bright stamp foils while delivering tournament-grade durability. The plastic offers a stiff rim with a slightly tacky surface that grips well in dry conditions, and it holds its overstability through season after season of competitive play. VIP is the default premium choice for distance drivers and fairways across most bags. As a premium blend it preserves the listed flight numbers far longer than a baseline release, where the same mold typically gains extra turn and a softer fade within weeks of consistent play.
