The Destroyer is an overstable, fast power distance driver (12/5/-1/3) with significant glide, positioned by Innova as a faster, slightly more stable cousin to the Wraith for sidearm throwers and high-power players. It handles headwinds and off-axis torque cleanly, defines a strong predictable finish, and is explicitly not recommended for beginners. Out of the box the Destroyer shows only a brief high-speed turn before a powerful, dependable fade, and as it beats in that fade softens while the turn deepens, leading the disc through a long stable phase into eventual straight-to-understable flight that many players prize as a seasoned distance workhorse. In premium Innova plastics such as Star, Champion, GStar, Halo Star and Blizzard Champion the listed 12/5/-1/3 flight is preserved longest — which is why Star Destroyers are so coveted — while baseline plastics like DX, Pro and R-Pro season noticeably faster toward a more understable feel.
Plast: Champion: Champion is Innova's long-running premium plastic, a clear, hi-tech blend built for outstanding durability and predictable flight. Discs in this line carry a distinctive transparent appearance and tend to run a touch firmer and more overstable than the same mold in other plastics. That extra firmness is the point: in heavily wooded courses or on rugged terrain, Champion rims resist deformation from tree strikes and rocky landings far better than softer blends, which is what allows the disc to keep its molded flight shape across hundreds of throws. The plastic is the standard recommendation for professional and serious tournament players, and most Champion molds remain available for custom hot stamping. Premium plastics hold listed flight numbers far longer; baseline plastics deepen turn and soften fade within weeks.
