The Katana is an understable, high-speed distance driver with flight numbers 13/5/-3/3 (S/G/T/F), built with the finesse thrower in mind and recommended as a downwind driver. It physically resembles a Boss but flies more like a Sidewinder on steroids, and on the right release angle it can bolt out of sight with little effort. Out of the box it turns readily at high speed, holds long anhyzer and hyzer-flip lines, and still produces a noticeable fade at the end thanks to its forward finish. As the Katana seasons it becomes even more understable, the turn deepens, and the fade softens, transitioning into a long turnover and roller driver. The Champion Katana flies slightly more stable at 13/5/-2/3. Premium Innova plastics such as Star, Champion, GStar, Halo Star, and Blizzard Champion preserve the listed flight numbers longest, while baseline plastics like DX, Pro, and R-Pro season faster toward a more understable, flippier profile.
Plast: Pro: Innova Pro is a versatile mid-tier plastic blend that bridges the gap between baseline and premium plastics. Compared to DX, Pro offers noticeably better grip, a softer and more comfortable feel in the hand, and improved durability that allows the disc to maintain its flight characteristics for longer. While it still seasons faster than premium plastics like Star and Champion, many players appreciate how Pro gradually beats in, developing smoother turn and added glide over time without changing too abruptly. The slightly tackier surface gives Pro excellent control in both dry and colder conditions, making it a popular choice for drivers and approach discs where grip and touch are important. Premium plastics such as Star and Champion retain their original stability significantly longer, while Pro provides a balanced combination of feel, workable flight evolution, and affordability.
