About the Ballista
The Ballista by Latitude 64 fills a special role in your bag—designed to execute when the pressure is on. With flight numbers Speed 14.0, Glide 5.0, Turn -1.0, and Fade 3.0, this distance driver offers a flight pattern suited for intermediate and advanced players. Glide like this makes it a favorite for both power arms and finesse throwers alike. Ideal for anhyzers that hold or flex lines that need control. Expect a consistent hyzer finish that locks in your landing zone. Perfect for shaping S-lines or flex shots on wooded courses.
The plastic: Opto-Ice Orbit
Opto Ice is Latitude 64's translucent premium blend, positioned alongside the standard Opto line as a glassy, slightly stiffer interpretation of the same durable formula. The clear, ice-like appearance comes from a polymer recipe that resists nicks and surface abrasion through tree hits and concrete-edge scrapes typical of wooded courses. As a premium tier disc, Opto Ice is meant for players who care about repeatable flight numbers across hundreds of rounds, particularly in distance drivers and fairways where overstability matters most. Grip is firm and clean rather than tacky, which suits dry conditions; in cold weather the plastic stiffens further but stays predictable. Premium hold means the disc retains its listed flight far longer, with overstability bleeding off only gradually after many seasons of hard use; baseline equivalents would soften, gain turn, and lose their reliable fade within weeks of similar abuse.
How it flies now
Condition 6. Seasoned. Thrown many rounds, scratches and minor rim dings, but in fully good shape. This is where it has settled: less fade, more glide, and on a flat release it goes straight where a new one would have hyzered out. Ballista is stable: new it flies straight with a clear fade at the end, seasoned it holds the straight part longer.
About used discs
A disc seasons as it gets thrown. The rim wears, the fade softens and the disc flies straighter than its flight numbers say. Premium plastic holds its shape for a long time, base plastic seasons in a few rounds, and an overstable disc takes it better than an understable one.
