Gatekeeper VIP (7)

The Gatekeeper is a midrange disc from Westside Discs with flight numbers 4 / 5 / 0 / 2, placing it in the M category with a stable to slightly overstable profile. The neutral turn and moderate fade give it a controllable straight flight that holds the angle of release before settling out with a clean, predictable finish, making it useful for approach shots, controlled midrange lines, and shaped hyzers. Power players can lean on it for forehand approaches and flex shots, while slower arms get reliable, mostly straight flights without unwanted turn. As the disc breaks in it gradually softens at the end, becoming straighter through the entire flight and eventually flying with a hint of high-speed turn that opens up gentle anhyzer and turnover lines. In premium plastics like VIP, Tournament, or Moonshine VIP the Gatekeeper preserves its stability and durability over many rounds, while baseline BT Hard, BT Soft, and Origio versions develop a worn-in, more workable flight pattern faster.

Plast: VIP: Westside Discs VIP is the flagship premium translucent blend in the lineup, a clear, durable polymer that carries deep dye work and bright stamp foils while delivering tournament-grade durability. The plastic offers a stiff rim with a slightly tacky surface that grips well in dry conditions, and it holds its overstability through season after season of competitive play. VIP is the default premium choice for distance drivers and fairways across most bags. As a premium blend it preserves the listed flight numbers far longer than a baseline release, where the same mold typically gains extra turn and a softer fade within weeks of consistent play.
